The Dos And Don’ts Of Transporting Home Appliances

Now that the whole tiresome and tedious process of hunting up a new home to move into, and all those inspections, paperwork and meetings with the real estate agent are behind you, it’s time to finally pack up and move on. Congratulations! You’ll soon be settled in your new abode and begin to make your life there. Of course, the last thing you want is to unpack and find out some of your belongings have been destroyed on the way, or that your appliances have broken down because of complications during the delivery process. Which is why we at Yalla Pickup have put together a list of dos and don’ts when it comes to transporting your home appliances, including refrigerators, televisions and more. With extensive experience in delivery and pickup services in Dubai, we’ve accumulated quite a bit of useful knowledge in the field.

Though you may think it is not a big deal or that it is a short distance so there will be no issues, you should never transport a fridge without cleaning it out and leaving it unplugged for at least 24 hours. The aim is to ensure there is no moisture whatsoever in the refrigerator in any way. When you get to the location, do not plug it in immediately either. Leave it another day for the gases inside to settle, and then you can begin using it safely.

Once again taking a refrigerator as an example, you shouldn’t ever place weight on an appliance. In any form. Even if you think it can handle it. You don’t want it to break down later owing to an accident now. Transport all appliances the right way up, so that means no keeping your television on its side to create more space or the refrigerator too so you can pile boxes on top of it. If possible, unearth all the boxes you got the appliances in, and pack them in the same.

Not with soap and water, but with a wipe or damp cloth if need be. You don’t want to transport dusty appliances all the way and unload them the same way do you? Give them a quick clean once you begin pulling everything out. If you need help with loading and unloading, don’t worry, we send movers along with our pickup services in Dubai, so you should be alright.
